Billy Joe was born on December 31, 1937 in Henderson County to parents William “Bill” and Ethel (Calicutt) Bonner and entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2019 at the age of 81. Billy Joe graduated from Eustace High School. He worked for ABF Freight Systems for over 30 years, as a truck driver., with no accidents. He served as a volunteer fireman for over 20 years and was on the board of directors for the Eustace Volunteer Fire Department. Billy Joe, for years, served on the Moorehead-Melton Cemetery Committee, and he helped with the farm service agency. He enjoyed being outdoors; working with the his cattleland and landcattle. Billy Joe loved his family and spending time with them. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Billy Joe will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved him.
Billy Joe was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Lee Tanner and brothers; Larry Bonner and Melvin Bonner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jo Bonner of Eustace, daughter Tina Tanner of Eustace, son Scot Bonner and wife Janet of Eustace, grandchildren; Casey Tanner and wife Melanie, Kindle Tanner, Leslie Bradley and husband Josh, Joshua Bonner and Natalie Bonner, great-grandchildren; Kenadie, Case, Kaylen, Baylee, Raye, Shaymus and Jonesy, brother Charlie Bonner and wife Margaret of Eustace, sister-in-law Jean Ann Bonner of Eustace, numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
