Thomas Richard (Dick) Crompton of Bothell, Washington, entered his home in heaven October 11, 2019. He was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota in 1944 to L. T. Crompton and Grace Crompton/Waltman. From childhood he worked with his family on the farm in Wetonka, South Dakota. A graduate of Leola High School (1962), he went on to graduate from South Dakota State University (1967) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics. He joined the Army via college ROTC and served honorably in the Vietnam War. During the years he was in college and the Army, he began working as a spiritual mentor with the Navigators, a Christian Organization. He married Susan Lott in 1978. Together they raised a family and worked for the Navigators. His service in the military and work with the Navigators took him to many places in the world including Ghana, Africa. He worked there as a missionary for 16 years with his wife and children. Tom died from brain cancer but lives on with Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife, four children with spouses: David and Shawna, James and Catherine, Joanne, Theresa and Mitchell; along with seven grandchildren: Darby, Sawyer, Harper, Alice, Lucy , Matilda, and Mary; three siblings; Leo Crompton, Dorothy Hoffman/Herman, and Kelli Waltman; and all together nine nieces and nephews.
