On March 30th 2012, our cherished Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and best friend of 79 years, Tamara “Tammy” Jeanne Forsythe bid a gentle farewell to the countless family and friends who knew, loved, and supported her throughout her memorable life, as well as in her precious final days during which we were blessed with the opportunity of sharing life, love, laughter, and many fond memories with her, and in celebration of her life.
The daughter of Charles C. Huffman and Cecelia Gentillo-Huffman, Tammy is survived by her husband of 60 years, William “Bill” Forsythe, her children Susan (husband, Walter), Steve (wife, Marsha), Marc (wife, Hilary), and Jon (wife, Kirsten), Grandchildren David, Larry (wife, Denise), Nicole, Michael (wife, Amber), Matthew, Wes (wife, Kelly), Keri (husband, Matt), Lindsey, Brad, Nick, Chandler, and Chad (wife, Carolyn), Great Grandchildren Abbey, Randi, Rowen, Ava, Ellis, Emily, Maia, Matheryn, Katelyn, Addison, Brendan, and Nolan, her beloved maltese-yorky Annie, Amazon parrot Daisy, and the many very close and dear friends who were equally as loved and cherished by her, and to whom she meant so much.
Raising their family and living in Mountlake Terrace until 1992, Tammy & Bill fulfilled their dream of spending retirement at the relaxing comforts of their Camano Island residence until 2009, when they returned to Mountlake Terrace in order to be closer to the loving support of nearby family and friends.
She was a 4-time cancer survivor, and the unmistakable beacon of the Forsythe family, always giving of herself for the benefit of others, and possessing the unique combination of uncompromised strength, humor, tradition, and most memorable of all, her gentle and disarming warmth and caring toward others that stood her distinctly apart from the rest, all of which helped to shape and nurture the very best of what her family represents and carries forward to this day.
She was a collector of memories, honoring family and friends with countless photographs and keepsakes, rarely ever missing a Birthday or special event, and always finding genuine happiness in the joys and accomplishments of others. Her gregarious and giving nature left an indelible mark on the lives of so many family and friends alike, resulting in rich and enduring friendships, and unforgettable memories that we will carry with us as priceless treasures to be shared time and again during this lifetime and beyond, just as she would have wanted.
Tammy left this life just as she had lived it… on her own terms, and only when the time was just right for her, a true fighter to the last. We love you so much, will miss you dearly, and are going to look forward to the time when we get to see you once again.
