Russell was the second oldest in a family of 11 kids. There was plenty of mayhem and mischief when they were growing up. Let’s not forget the misbehaving and trouble they all caused their Dad and Mom!
In 1956 Russell married the love of his life Grace in June. 10 days later he was drafted into the Army. He was originally stationed in Ft Leonard Wood, MO. He was then transferred to WA, where he served at Ft Lawton and both Kirkland and Redmond Nike sites. Russell received an Honorable Discharge in 1958. He worked a few different places including Boeing, U.S. Plywood, and Derwin TV. After his first retirement he returned to work as a para-transit driver for another 16+ years. He loved working at this job as he got to spend more time with his son Jeff and they had something in common to talk about. Russell loved the water and spent innumerable hours on the Puget Sound with his son Larry – boating and fishing.
Russell is survived by his sons Jeff (Connie) and Larry Bigelow; his grand-daughters Natalie, Brittney and Whitney; his grandson Ryan; His siblings Ruth, Grace (Denny), Jim (Wanda), Art, Betty, and Sharon (Tim). He was preceded in death by his wife Grace, his parents Ralph and Elda, and siblings Robert, Ronnie, Lois, and Gary.
Russell lived a very full life and will be remembered for his love of his lord & savior, as well as his family. For always being there to talk to, listening, offering advise & loving you no matter what.
