Paul Mustoe, 70, passed away on November 3rd, 2022 after a lengthy illness.
Paul was born in Seattle, grew up in Brier, and was a long-time resident of Lynnwood, Washington. He graduated from Mountlake Terrace High School in 1971. After high school he worked as a groundskeeper for the city of Mountlake Terrace.
Paul loved nature, and in his later years became a proficient photographer, capturing eagles on the Skagit River, the occasional seal on the Edmonds beach, and the turtles and ducks that he found at nearby Scriber Lake. He loved riding the Edmonds-Kingston ferry and was elated the day he got to see Orcas alongside the vessel. The two cruises he took up the Inside Passage to Alaska with his partner Barbara were his favorite vacation experiences.
Paul was a gentle, caring man who was quick to befriend strangers. He was known to all for his big heart, his sense of humor, and corny jokes. He was loving and generous. To call him merely compassionate would be an understatement.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ellen and John Mustoe, and his sister Wanda Koumaros. He leaves behind his partner Barbara Durfee, whose loving care and doting attention brought happiness and contentment to his life during a lengthy period of failing health. Paul also leaves behind his brother Steve Mustoe, his sister Rita Nielson, nephews Tony Koumaros, Frank Koumaros, David Nielson, and Mark Nielson, and his great niece and nephew Lucy and Henry Koumaros, both of whom he adored.
There will be a private memorial service for family members.
