Pamela Jean Burtis was born in Seattle to John Burtis, Jr and Florence Francis Burtis on February 5, 1956. She is survived by her brothers Douglas John Burtis (Janet) and James Dean Burtis (Tamara) and half- sisters Donna Wartalla and Anna Berry. Her nephews and nieces are Joseph Butler and Jimmy Burtis, Jr., Robert Perry, Heather Perry-Wartalla, Kathleen Poole, JoAnne Gutheon, Johnathan Williamson, and Maryanne Jane Williamson. A close friend, Lorna Newman is much loved and appreciated by the family.
Pam grew up in Lynnwood Washington and lived with her parents and siblings. Then she moved to Amboy Washington near Vancouver to live on a farm with her parents in 1996. Sadly, she lost her mother two years later and her father passed in 2006. She remained on the farm with her half-sister, Donna for about 5 more years, then moved to Everett, living in apartments by herself, then in a group home where she has lived for the last few years of her life, cared for by Josefina and Bill Thomas.
During her growing up years in the 1970’s through the 80’s she enjoyed participating in Special Olympics activities including bowling and swimming; achieving several metals. Pam loved and adored animals and enjoyed caring for them and riding horses. She also liked to make jewelry and latch hook rugs and other crafts. More recently she still participated in Special Olympics and bowling on a weekly basis as well as meeting with her friends at All Aboard to do crafts and other activities. She liked to stay busy and see her friends.
Pam loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing which she did with her parents and her brother’s family. She loved to go on vacation or just on an outing whenever possible. She was fun to be with because every little thing meant so much to her. She especially loved the holidays; Christmas and Halloween were her favorite. She would talk about it a half year ahead of time because she looked forward to it so much.
Pam had a sweet, loving spirit, always wanting to please and very loving and kind, the heart of a child. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Services to celebrate her life will be held at the Chapel at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills in Lynnwood Washington on Saturday, September 3, 2022. An open casket viewing will start at 12 noon until the service begins at 1:00pm, followed by a graveside service at 2:00pm. All family and friends are welcome to come remember with us.
