Neva grew up in the Westville area and graduated from Westville High School. She moved to California and attended The University of Southern California. After the war she went to Germany and worked for the USAF as a civilian secretary. While she was there she met senior airman Ed Colebourn. They were married February 18, 1952 at Patrick AFB in Florida.
They spend the next 15 years traveling with the USAF from base to base before settling in Everett WA. During that time the family grew with the arrival of three children, Ted, Jeff and Lisa.
After settling in Everett Neva returned to school. She attended the University of Washington and then Seattle University where she earned a Masters Degree in Sociology. She worked for Central Washington University as an admissions counselor for a number of years before retiring.
In retirement she enjoyed crafts work, round dancing and volunteering as a poll worker. She was very accomplished at creating figurines and lace draped china dolls.
Neva is survived by two of her children; Ted Colebourn and Lisa Weis, her ex-husband Ed Colebourn, her four grandchildren; Sean Weis, Chrysta Colebourn, Jenifer Boede, and TJ Colebourn and two great grandchildren.
