Beloved Son, Uncle, Husband ,Poppa and friend passed away from Cancer January 26, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family in Everett Washington. He was born July 4, 1957 in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Ralph and Velda (Whitmer) Pearson.
Mark enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17, and entered boot camp at Naval Station San Diego, and served aboard the USS Coral Sea (CVA 43)as a Firemen. He was honorably discharged in 1976.
In 1985 Mark became a father to the Apple of his Eye, Tara Pearson. Tara was the pride of his life. On July 3, 1996 Mark Met his future bride, and on October 2, 1999 Mark and Angel were married. At that moment, Mark became the loving and accepting father of four more children, Steven, Duane, Kristin and Nick, whom he made his own.
Mark spent the last years of his life fulfilling his bucket list and spending meaningful time with his family. Ensuring that when he was gone from this world, they were taken care of.
Mark was preceded in death by his brother and family Rodney, Sarah, Rachel and Grace Pearson (Alaskan Flight #261), and his father Ralph Pearson.
He is survived by the love of his life, Angel Pearson of Everett Washington, his mother, Velda Pearson of Northgate Washington. Parents-in law Gary and Janice (Moretti) Lewis of Edmonds Washington. Daughters Tara Pearson of Marysville Washington, and Kristin Grinde of Marysville Washington. His sons Steven (Kristin) Smith of Lynwood Washington, Duane Smith of Everett Washington, and Nick Grinde of Marysville Washington. His Grandchildren Emma and Lily (Steven), Jordan (Kristin), Hunter (Tara) and KP (Duane).
At his request, Mark was cremated and his family will gather together at Smith River to scatter his Ashes.
A service and celebration of life will be held on Friday, Feb. 7th in the LDS Mill Creek Ward at 16124 35th Avenue Southeast, Mill Creek Washington. Services at 2:30 pm and visit with the family (potluck/refreshments) immediately to follow. Mark has requested that no one wear black to his Celebration of life. He wants us to celebrate him not mourn him. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Marks name to the American Cancer Society(https://donate.cancer.org/index), or to a Homeless Veterans program in your area.
