Frances Gale Steffen

Franny was born in Fernie, B.C., Canada on August 4th 1938 to her loving parents Frank and Irene Letcher. She grew up and attended high school in Grassy Lake B.C., Canada. She had many siblings; Betty, Bill, Cecil, Don, Emma, Jo and Tom.

She married Leander (Gump) Steffen (deceased 2004) on December 21st 1968 and they raised two boys, Dean (married to Vanessa) and Daron. Franny was mostly a stay at home mom who loved to take care of her family and furry companions. She and Gump loved working in their yard and growing fruits, vegetables and flowers. Franny was very supportive of her sons in their numerous sporting activities, support which continued on with her grandson Madx (Daron’s son), attending his many sporting events as well.

Franny was active in the church (Maplewood Presbyterian) and donated her time to two different daycares over the years. Franny’s circle of friends was large and diverse; whether she was helping out at church, playing Joker Poker at the Lynnwood Eagles, walking with the Alderwood “Mall Walkers” or just spending time with family…she fit in and was warmly welcomed everywhere she went. From spring thru fall she was a die-hard Seattle Mariners fan, always listening or watching the games and rooting her M’s on.

If you stopped by or were going out and gave Franny a call, she would always need to change her shirt and shoes, then meet you for a bite to eat (anything but cheese!), a cold beverage and pull tabs, if they were available (she always seemed to have the best luck too).

Funeral will be held at Maplewood Presbyterian Church, 19523 84th Ave W, Edmonds, WA 98026 on September 1st starting at 10:00 am

Celebration of Life will be held at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Rd, Lynnwood, WA 98036 on September 1st at 2:00 pm for immediate family and friends.

Franny (mom) touched many lives with her loving and caring nature. She was loved greatly and will be forever missed.
