David Scott White, of Shoreline, Washington, passed away October 20, 2023. David was born to Dean and Catherine (Minnie) White of Hollywood, California on December 3, 1940. David had a very strong work ethic that began as a child, wanting to help support his mother and earn money to buy his own clothes and food. He had a paper route and delivered newspapers to neighborhoods such as Toluca Lake where Bob Hope lived. He graduated from Hollywood High in 1958 and proudly joined the Air Force in 1959. He served for 4 years in California and Nevada as a weatherman. He also worked for the railroad, and attended community college, constantly wanting to learn. He went on to graduate from the University of Washington with a Masters in Sociology and University of Utah with a law degree. David owned his own law practice for years as well as managing various companies, most recently until 2023 with Western Technology, in Bremerton.
David had been living with Parkinson’s disease for years, but began declining in May. He subsequently had to move out of his home to receive more care. David is survived by his daughter, Shannon (Ryan) and two grandchildren, Catherine (16) and Claire (13). Papa David will be greatly missed but remembered for his generosity, love for learning and appreciation of family. Any donations can made in his name to the Michael J Fox Foundation, dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease.
