Cheryle Jeanine Courtney

Cheryle Jeanine Courtney, age 70, of Lynnwood, WA passed away peacefully on January 3, 2023. Cheryle was born to Wenzel and Shirley Leonhard of Renton, WA on September 29, 1952. Cheryle was preceded in death by both her parents, her son Jeffrey, and her loving husband James (Bill). Cheryle is survived by her son Joshua, sister Linda Ziesmer, and brothers Shawn and Michael Leonhard.

Cheryle enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with family. Married to Bill in 1975, she raised both her sons Jeff & Josh, helped raise her step-daughters Josey & Jody, and later step-grandson Kyle. Once widowed in 2003, she found companionship with her Lhasa Apso puppy 'Buddy'. Cheryle worked for Children's Home Society in Payroll and retired from Snohomish County School District in Benefits Administration. In retirement Cheryle enjoyed being a snowbird, living in Arizona and Washington. Diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in early 2022, she was able to extend her life via Chemotherapy. This allowed her to spend time with her son Josh and her sister Linda, enjoy a Seahawks game, and celebrate her 70th Birthday. She also completed a Seahawks Quilt and coordinated a new plot for our family at Floral Hills Cemetery (James W. Courtney and Jeffrey J. Courtney moved from Washelli in 2022).

Cheryle will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Cemetery, 409 Filbert Rd. in Lynnwood, WA.
