Carol Marie McNiven-Seymour, age 68, resident of Lynnwood, WA since 1980 died Tuesday, August 25th in the ICU unit of Providence Hospital in Everett due to complications from her recent chemotherapy treatment. Carol was born December 27, 1946 in Seattle, WA to Lyle and Aretta Smith. At the age of 3, her mother married Henry Sprintels whom loved and raised Carol as his own. Carol had an older sister, LouEllen Boettger, who died earlier this year on March 14th. Carol was married to Richard C. McNiven from February 17, 1966 until his passing on May 21, 1990. She then married Vincent A. Seymour on May 1, 1999.
Carol graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1965 with a Statement of Proficiency in Secretarial Science. She bettered her education through classes at Edmonds and Shoreline Community Colleges, and became a Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) in 1987. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at John Fluke Manufacturing Company in Everett, Intermec Corporation in Everett, Saros Corporation in Bellevue, Philips Medical Systems in Bothell, and Premera Blue Cross in Mountlake Terrace. She was also a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), Everett Chapter, for 20 years. She retired in 2009 to be home and care for her mother, spend time with her husband, and enjoy her garden.
Carol is survived by her husband, Vincent Seymour; 2 children, Scott McNiven (wife Amie) and Cheryl Werda (husband Thomas); 6 grandchildren, Taleah, Josiah, Bethany and Iona Werda, and Richard and Haylee McNiven; nephews and niece, Todd and Forrest Boettger and Danielle Sylvia; sister-in-law Ann Ditzel (husband Art) and niece, Audrey Mills, and nephew, Ryan Ditzel; niece, Carmen Chance; and many dear friends.
Carol loved cooking, gardening, traveling, being out on the water, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a friend to many and will be remembered for her warmth and beautiful smile. She loved our Lord Jesus Christ and knew she would be reunited with family and friends when the Lord called her home.
The Memorial Service will be September 8, 2015 at 1:00PM at Floral Hills Cemetery, 409 Filbert Rd, Lynnwood, WA. There will a reception following the service at Alderwood Community Church, 3403 Alderwood Mall Blvd, Lynnwood. The family looks forward to celebrating her life with you.
