Born in Lynn , he was the son of the late John R. and Marian (Vredenburgh) Needham. He attended Saugus Schools, was a graduate of Saugus High School Class of 1959, and resided in Saugus his entire life.
Prior to his retirement, he spent over 41 years as a Machinist for the Lynn Screw Corporation. In earlier years, he was a member of the High School band along with his brother and also played saxophone for the DeMolay Band with his brother. He was a longtime member of the Trolley Car Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine. An active member of the East Baptist Church in Lynn, Bob was also a longtime member and Chief Ranger for the Christian Service Brigade. He greatly enjoyed model shipbuilding and woodcarving.
He leaves his twin brother, Richard E. Needham of Saugus. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and special friends, including Dawn and Curmit McKenzie. A special thank you to the entire East Baptist Church Community.
Bob’s Funeral Service will be held in the East Baptist Church, 300 Western Ave. LYNN on Saturday at 12:00PM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Saugus. Visiting Hours in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Friday from 4-7PM.
