Mr. Robert A. Murphy, age 65, of Lynn, died at Union Hospital on Friday, February 18th. He was the son of the late Thomas H. and Mary (Spillane) Murphy.
Robert was educated in the Lynn Public School system, and was employed as a Machinist for G.E. for 35 years. He retired in 2006. He proudly served his country in Vietnam in the United States Army.
Robert enjoyed music and gardening. He owned several Mustangs. He was devoted to his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Virginia “Ginger” Murphy of Lynn; Son Tim Murphy and his wife Joanne of Quincy; daughter Beth Murphy of Lynn; Brothers Thomas Murphy and his wife Joan of Peabody and Terrence Murphy of Lynn; Grandchildren Robert Murphy, Haylee and Sydney Denham. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Robert’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 23rd at 11:00am in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
