He was the husband of the late Marie “Dickey” LeBlanc with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Adolph and Margaret (LeBlanc) LeBlanc, and brother to the late Verney and Mary.
A lifelong resident of Lynn, he graduated from St. Jean Baptiste High School in 1946.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He worked at Thom McAn Shoe Store, then the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 29 years until his retirement in 1989. After retirement, he worked part time for many years at Salem State College in the mailroom.
He was a member of Amvets and The National Association of Letter Carriers. He was also a member of the St. Jean’s choir for many years.
He leaves his son Marc LeBlanc of Lynn, his daughter Louise Deschenes and her husband Brian of Peabody, and his grandsons Jonathan LeBlanc and Zachary Deschenes.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two cherished grandsons.
Visiting Hours will be held for Rene on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery.
