Mr. Norman J. Beaudet, age 79, of Lynn, died Wednesday morning in the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a short illness. He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Conway) Beaudet, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Antonio and Anna (Dupuis) Beaudet.
Norman enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950 and proudly served his country for 21 years, being honorably discharged as a Technical Sergeant in 1971. Prior to his retirement, Norman spent over 20 years as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service.
An avid runner, he ran 3 Boston Marathons and also ran Mount Washington several times. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Salem Deputy Fire Chief Glen Beaudet and his wife Jane of Salem, Lynn Moscato of Amesbury, Dale Beaudet of Salem and Captain Michael Beaudet, U.S.A.F. and his wife Sue of Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. He was the brother of Richard Beaudet of SC and Claire Donatelli of Lynn. He was the Grandfather of Kelly, Kimberly, Brittany, Macauley, Christopher and Jeremy. Norman also leaves his longtime running and walking partner, Guy Pachillo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert, Leonard, Donald, Gerald, Francis, and Charles Beaudet.
Norman’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Monday at 9:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Pius V Church at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment will be private. Visiting Hours Sunday 1-4PM.
