Mary Lou (Burns) Robson, age 75 of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on May 3, 1941 in Lynn, the daughter of the late John Francis and Margaret C. (O’Connor) Burns. She was raised and educated in Lynn and graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1958. She also attended the Chandler School for Women in Boston. She had worked as a secretary for GE in Lynn, until she gave birth to her first child. Mary Lou enjoyed staying home to take care of her family. She was an extremely devoted mother, who was always active in all of her children’s activities. When her children were grown, Mary Lou was able to devote her time doting on her grandchildren as well. She will be sadly missed by her family.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles H. Robson of Lynn, her daughter, Katie Neenan and her husband, Erik of Lynnfield, her son, Chuck and his wife, Ursula of Lebanon, NH, Her sister, Kathy Putis and her husband, Walter of Naples, FL, her sister-in-law, Carol Burns of Heartland, WI, and her three grandchildren; Emma Lou, Jack and Devon Neenan. She was predeceased by her brother, John Francis “Jack” Burns.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 8 – 10 AM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, MA 01904. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 768 Salem Street, Lynnfield, MA 01940. Burial will follow the Mass in Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
