Mary I. Gillette Abbott

Born in Revere, she grew up in Lynn, and was the daughter of the late Albert H. and Helen E. (Young) Gillette. She worked as a waitress for Friendly’s Restaurants in Connecticut for 15 years, before moving back to Lynn. She lived in Beverly for the past 8 years.

Mary was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed playing bingo.

Mary was the mother of Gerald “Jerry” Knox and his wife Kristine of Peabody, Richard Knox of Boston and Carleen Knox of Lynn. She also leaves three bothers Ray Gillette and his wife Robin of Beverly, Paul Gillette and his wife Phyllis and Al Gillette all of Lynn, two sisters Diane Nelson and her husband Bill of Lynn and Patricia Prunier and her husband Bill of Las Vegas, NV, 8 grandchildren including Ryan Knox, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Billy Gillette, John Gillette and Carol Gillette.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 PM.
