Mrs. Linda A. (Ciancio) Rankin, age 93, of Danvers, formerly of Lynn, died early Thursday morning in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John L. Maloney and Frank Rankin.
Born in Lynn, Linda was the daughter of the late Antonio and Laura (Conte) Ciancio. She was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. Linda lived in Lynn for most of her life before spending 13 years in Cocoa Beach, FL. She then returned to Lynn and lived in the Ocean Shores Apartments on the Lynnway for 15 years before moving to Danvers 4 years ago.
She loved traveling and keeping up on current events. Linda was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed her many friends and family celebrations. She enjoyed spending time at Little Sebago and was very generous to charities, in particular, Hospice and the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
She leaves her daughter, Pat (Maloney) Agganis and her husband Demo of Danvers. She was the Grandmother of Laurie Soucy and her husband Leo, Maureen Agganis and Chris Sweeney and her husband Mark. She was the Great-Grandmother of Leanne and Sean Soucy and Kelly, Katie and Terry Sweeney. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, including Beverly Egan and the late Ambassador Richard J. Egan.
Family and Friends are kindly invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass in Saint Mary of the Annunication Church, 24 Conant St. Danvers on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 11:00AM. Burial will be private. Gifts in Linda’s memory may be sent to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
