Kathleen “Kathy” A. (Carter) McIsaac, 73, of Beverly, formally of Lynn and Salem, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 24, 2019 with her two children by her side. She was the beloved daughter of the late John and Kathleen “Kay” (Looney) Carter, born on March 19, 1946.
Kathleen enjoyed a lengthy career at Salem State College, holding various administrative positions across a number of departments and spanning over 25 years of employment there. In the years leading up to her retirement in 2012, she enjoyed traveling with her dear friend and travel partner Stephen J. Clarke. They would travel mostly all over Europe, with Venice, Italy, becoming her favorite adventure and they even spent a month in Japan. She had a love for the ocean and enjoyed spending time near the beach, whether that meant a visit to her children’s shared boat, walking the boardwalk with her grandchildren or enjoying an ice cream or a chop suey sandwich with her dearest “sister-friend” Judy Deveau. Most of all Kathleen loved to be a mother. She would go out of her way to be a part of everything that her kids were involved in, whether that meant she became the head of the PTO, a proud soccer, hockey and dance mom, a brownie and Boy Scout troop leader and even secretary of their elementary school. Later in life when her grandkids started up their activities, she was happy to watch and become a part of their events as well.
She was the cherished mother of Jason McIsaac and his wife Genevieve Gonzalez, Patricia Brown and her husband Jay; the adored grandmother of Liam and Maeven Brown, Ava and Sophie McIsaac and the dear sister of the late John “Jack” Cater. She also leaves behind her Looney family cousins, with whom she loved to reminisce and laugh with.
Visiting hours for Kathleen will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cuffe- McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her funeral mass will be leaving from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. to St. Pius V Church, Lynn, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass. Family and friends are respectfully invited to join. Burial will be at St. Josephs Cemetery, Lynn.
