Born in Lynn to the late Edward and Adeline (Poirier) LeBlanc. He attended St. Jean’s High School, graduating with the Class of 1942, then entered the Seminary for a short time prior to serving in the United States Army. He proudly served his country during the Korean War. Upon returning home he earned his Associate's Degree from Morse College. Following his education, he worked for Raytheon, the City of Lynn as a health inspector, the United States Post Office as a clerk for over 20 years, and in retirement he worked for Cuffe-McGinn. Joseph was a proud member of the Franco-American War Veterans Post 12 and Knights of Columbus Valladolid Council #70 as a Fr. Gabriel Druillette General Assembly Fourth degree member. Joseph was loved by all who knew him and he will be missed by all who loved him.
Joseph is survived by his devoted children, Joanne P. Nestor and her husband John, Elizabeth A. Kosta and her husband Dr. Charles and Susan M. Raiche Beevers and her husband Jake; his cherished grandchildren Ryan M. Nestor, Katelyn T. Boyle, Michael J. Nestor, Kyle J. Davy, Gabrielle N. Kosta, Michaela E. Kosta and Christianna N. Kosta; his great-grandchildren William M. Nestor, Ethan C. Nestor, Connor J. Boyle, Jack M. Nestor, Emily M. Nestor, Drew J. Nestor and Cal G. Nestor; his siblings Raymond M. LeBlanc and Cecile “Terry” Doucette; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Joseph is predeceased by his siblings Omer LeBlanc, Joseph Leo LeBlanc, and Marie Wallace.
Friends and family are invited to attend Joseph’s visitation on Wednesday, October 6th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. His funeral will be held from Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home on Thursday, October 7th at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple St., Lynn at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Jean Cemetery, Lynn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joseph’s name to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 215, Maple Street, Lynn, MA 01904 or Greater Lynn Senior Services, 8 Silsbee Street Lynn, MA 01901.
