John P. “Johnny” Houlihan, a long-time resident of Lynn, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Life Care Center of the North Shore in Lynn, he was 62. Born in Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland, he was the son of the late Jackie and Ita (Stack) Houlihan. Johnny was raised and educated in Ireland and eventually found his way to the United States in 1985. He was a skilled mason and worked for over 40 years as a bricklayer. Johnny enjoyed watching Boston sports teams, most notably the New England Patriots, as well as life’s simple pleasures like reading, especially history, and walking on the beaches of Lynn. Johnny is survived by his wife; Aoife Houlihan of North Berwick, ME, his children; John D. Houlihan and his wife, Amy of Lynn, Erin C. McLaughlin and her husband, Sean of Braintree, and Triona O’Sullivan and her husband, Michael of Boston, his grandchildren; Kayla O’Sullivan, Liam and Sean Og McLaughlin and Jack Houlihan, his siblings; Francie Houlihan and his wife, Colette of Ireland, Richie Houlihan of Ireland, Sheila Bulman and her husband Karl of Ireland, Austin Houlihan and his wife, Patsy of Tewksbury, and Noreen Sugrue and her husband, Dermot of Ireland. Johnny also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Visiting Hours will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. LYNN on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 3 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held from The Gleasure Funeral Home, Matt Talbot Rd., Tralee, Co. Kerry. Ireland.
