Born in Salem, Helen was the daughter of the late Rupert and Maud E. (Carpenter) McKeen. She attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1932. She later attended Boston University. Helen was a lifelong resident of Lynn.
Prior to her retirement at the age of 70, she worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Public Welfare Division of Child Guardianship, a position she held for over 36 years. She was a past member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star White Shrine of Jerusalem and the Victory Lodge.
She leaves one cousin, Earl Carpenter of New Hampshire. She is also survived by her dear friends, Scot and Barbara Harris and their children Joe, Steven and Alison all of Lynn, and Marge Shanoski of Lynn. She was the cousin of the late Raymond Carpenter.
Helen’s Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Wednesday at 12:00PM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation prior to the Service beginning at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Helen’s memory may be sent to the Grace United Methodist Church, 374 Broadway, Lynn, MA 01904.
