Born in Lynn, Gerald was the son of the late Albert J. and Mary (LaPointe) Farese. A life-long resident of Lynn, Gerald graduated from Lynn Classical High School Class of 1950.
Gerald enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, Jerry combined his two hobbies and opened the Gerald Farese Camera and Gun Shop located in Lynn. After his retirement, Jerry was active as a Crossing Guard.
In addition to being an avid photographer, Jerry also belonged to the Italian American Citizens Club in Lynn and the Eastern Rifle and Revolver Club of Lynn.
He leaves his brothers and sisters, John Farese and his wife Sharon of Mooresville, IN, Dolores Ausiello of Lynn, Sandra Farese of Lynn, Jane Reagan of Conway, SC, and Janice Bourque and her husband Roland of Conway, SC. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was the brother of the late Elizabeth Richard, the Honorable Anthony Farese and Albert J. Farese.
A Graveside Service for Gerald will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn on Friday at 11AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather inside the main gate, Boston Street at 10:45AM. Per Jerry’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130. Arrangements entrusted to the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn.
