Artie was born in Lynn on December 9, 1950. He was the son of the late Arthur and Ethel (Smith) Gallant. Arthur attended St Joseph Institute, Eastern Jr High School and Lynn English High School. He graduated from LEHS in 1969 where he lettered in track.
Arthur worked at Harvard Folding Box, Nahant Knights of Columbus and General Electric in Everett. Arthur was a collector of coins, movies, baseball cards and comics. He had every Wrestlemania recorded on VHS. He was an avid fan of all Boston sports. He enjoyed playing sports as well. Artie loved discussing current events, reading, all things Lynn, making, fixing and riding bikes and attending concerts. He liked working with his hands. He admired cougars, not the women, the car.
As an Element Care and Adult Foster Care participant, he advocated for his peers. He was always looking out for the other guy and helping when he could. He was a friend of Bill W for 40 years. He was also a member of the Nahant Knights of Columbus #4682 for over 20 years. He cherished the time he spent with family, especially all his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He would like to be remembered as a nice guy.
He is survived by his sisters Darlene Gallant of Lynn, Denise Davis and her husband, Brian of Haverhill and brother, Ron Gallant and his wife, Gale of East Wakefield, NH, He was the brother of the late Deborah (Gallant) Greathead. He also leaves nephews and nieces, Cerrone Gallant and his wife Melissa, Jay Gallant and Melena Broussard, Tashima Gallant, Mathew Gallant and his wife Stephanie, Jill Gallant Mayo and Adam Chin, Chris Gallant, Justin Davis and his wife, Cara and Nick Davis and his wife, Tara along with several great nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn. His funeral will be held on Friday, April 13th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park.
