Anthony J. Gambale

Anthony J. Gambale, age 88 of Swampscott, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Anthony was born July 13, 1934 and was a life-long resident of Swampscott. Loving uncle of Lisa Hynes and her husband, Steven Picone, of Swampscott; Kathleen Hynes of Swampscott; and Darlene Sears of Lafayette, California. Adored great-uncle of Rachel Sears, Timothy Sears, Grace Picone, and Samantha Picone. Cherished son of the late John and Concetta Gambale. Dear brother of the late Nellie Hynes, the late Sr. Camella Gambale of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, and the late Rosemary Thomas. Anthony is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

Anthony loved spending time with his friends and family. He was a loving presence at every holiday meal and special family event. He loved both attending and watching sporting events. He ate out often with his friends and truly enjoyed a good meal. He loved driving his Cadillac. Anthony enjoyed walking the beach in the summer and the Northshore Mall in the winter. Anthony found pleasure in the simple things in life and made friendships that spanned decades. Anthony was a proud veteran and a huge supporter of veteran causes.

Friends and family are invited to attend Anthony’s visitation on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. A Funeral Mass for will follow at Holy Family Church, 26 Bessom Street, Lynn at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Swampscott Cemetery.
