Born in Lynn, MA on February 5, 1933, he was the son of the late Albert L. King and Helen T. (McDormand) Borenstein. Alan was a graduate of Lynn Vocational High School, Class of 1949. He then went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy, during the Korean War. He also worked as a civilian employee for a military commissary as a fork-lift operator in Virginia for over 7 years.
In his earlier years, Alan was a lover of country music. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with various country music bands. During his travels, he was even able to meet some famous country stars, like Faron Young and Willie Nelson. Later on, he settled down and began his family, and worked as a parts manager at several different automotive dealerships. The greatest joys in his life as he grew older became his family and beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He truly cherished the time he got to share with them.
Alan leaves his children: Debora A. Aldrich-Jegtvig and her wife, Faith, of Pittsfield, Dawn M. Regan and her husband, James, of Lanesborough, and Alan L. King, Jr. and Maureen H.
