Born on February 17, 1947 in Albion, NY, he was the son of the late Ogan and Virginia (Stokes) Kidney Sr.
Dennis graduated from Albion High School with a Forestry Degree. In 1966, he was drafted in the U.S. Army working as a Heavy Equipment Driver having served in Vietnam. On returning home, he worked as a logger for several years and lastly with the family business- Kidney Brothers Sawmill, retiring in 2010.
He was a member of the Ridgeway Vol. Fire Co. and was a member of the Yates-Carlton Sportsman Club, enjoying hunting and fishing and any kind of card game. He was an avid gardener, having given the produce friends and family. He was very close to his mother Virginia, having taking care of her in her final years.
He is survived by three children, Dennis, Christine, Jessica, four grandchildren, Alan, Melinda, Christopher, Benjamin, four siblings, Everette (Sharon) Kidney of Lyndonville, Clark (Donna)
Kidney Sr., of Medina, Marilyn (Eugene) Schwarcott of Ridgeway, Ogan (Edith) Kidney Jr. of Ridgeway and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Albert Kidney in 1973.
Relatives and friends may call from 6 PM – 9 PM on Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 112 N. Main St. Lyndonville, NY 14098. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Bates Rd. Cemetery with the Pastor Joseph A. Szalay III officiating and Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery.
