Shirley Beatrice Clements

Shirley Beatrice Thomas Clements, 80, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in Stone Mountain, Ga. Shirley B., as she was known to her friends and family, loved music and was very active in the Disciples of Christ Church as an organist and pianist and she also worked as a Title 1 aide with the Montgomery, Alabama City School System for many years. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Ralph N. Clements; her parents, Hubert M. Thomas, Sr. and Beatrice A. Baxter Thomas; brothers, Hubert M. Thomas Jr., Richard T. Thomas and James Thomas and sisters, Virginia Doris Thomas and Katherine T. Harvey. She is survived by her brother, William Thomas, of Lynchburg; three sisters, Betty Jean Drinkard, of Appomattox, Nancy Gregory, of Lynchburg and Margaret Justice, of Salem; three children, Stephen T. Clements and his wife, Barbara, of Chelsea, Ala., Lynn C. Weekley and her husband, Roland , of Lilburn, Ga. and Carol C. Purdy and her husband, Brian, of Lorton; two grandchildren, Robin and Roland "Keith" Weekley; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will be at a later date.
