Sharon Bernard Martin

Born in Lynchburg, December 4, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Earl Bernard, Sr. and Dorothy Wilson Bernard. Sharon was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Victor Martin; three children, Angelia Dooley and husband Gene of Lynchburg, Andrew Bernard and longtime girlfriend, Nina Farrar of Lynchburg and Victor Bernard and Fiancé Mallory Winters of Swansboro, NC; two brothers, Elmer Bernard and wife Cathy of Rustburg and Kenneth Bernard and wife Michelle of Forest; two sisters, Butternut Thornburg and husband C.L. of Concord and Claudia Voncille of Amherst; four grandchildren, Markus Dooley, Trayton Dooley, Colton Bernard and Lillian Bernard and her best friend Denise Poore. Share is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members, including a special niece lizzie.

A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Gethsemane Baptist Church with Pastor Carlton Duck officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 p.m.

The family request memorial contributions be made to the Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center, 1701 Thompson Dr., Lynchburg, VA 24501.
