Roberta Lee Whitehead Vaughan, 93, of Forest passed away Monday, September 7, 2020, at Carriage Hill Assisted Living in Bedford. She was the wife of the late Dewey Burton Vaughan. Born January 19, 1927, in Henrico County, she was the daughter of the late Alexander Robert Whitehead and the late Ruth Jones Whitehead.
Roberta was a nurse’s aide and provided a home for the elderly for many years. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.
In addition to her husband and parents, Roberta was preceded in death by a son, Dwayne Carter; two sisters, Barbara Morris and Madeline Campbell; and one grandson, R. Justin Stevens.
Roberta is survived by three children, Joan Agee and her husband Roger of Gladys, Jean Nowakowski of Forest, and Kenneth Vaughan of Rustburg; one sister, Eliza Baldwin of Amherst; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and other loving family members and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
