Robert "Johnnie" "Johnnie" Smith

Robert “Johnnie” Smith, 76 of Lynchburg went to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, December 30, 2012 at his residence. He was the loving husband of the late Pearl Williams Smith.
Born March 15, 1936 in Campbell County, he was a son of the late Clarence N. and Alma Mae Martin Smith. Johnnie is also preceded in death by his son, Bobby Smith; sisters, Edna Mae Smith, Irene Smith, Christine S. Harper, Margaret Louise Smith and Ann S. Dooley; brothers, Clarence Smith Jr. and Malcolm Smith.
Johnnie was a member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church and a member of Concord Happy Hearts.
He is survived by his daughter, Tootie Hudson and husband, Chuck; brother, Clyde Smith, and wife, Joyce; sister, Joyce Shipp and husband, Richard; five grandchildren, Ashby, Elizabeth, April, Hunter, and Casey; and five great-grandchildren. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at the residence.
A Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Mark Grooms. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
Family request memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Assoc.
