Robert W. Ruska Robert W. Ruska, 58, of Lynchburg, VA, formerly of Grants Pass, OR, died Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Cheryl Welden Ruska. Born August 28, 1951 in Cascade, Idaho, he was the son of the late Jack and Evelyn Ruska. He was a store manager with Sheetz Corp., a retired U.S. Marine Corp. Gunnery Seargant, having served during the Vietnam War Era, and attended Discover Church. Mr. Ruska was also formerly affiliated with United Marriage Encounter. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Chaplain Hans Ruska and wife; Stacy of Ft. Stewart, GA and Heidi Krone and husband, Kris of Forest; six brothers, Leo Noahr and wife, Loretta of Cincinatti, OH; Richard Noahr and wife, Betty of Lacey, WA; Jerry Noahr and wife of Idaho; Keith Ruska and wife, Nancy of Grants Pass, OR; Donald Ruska and wife, Carol of Yulee, Florida; and Kevin John Ruska of Grants Pass, OR; one sister, Evelyn Benson and husband, Chuck, also of Grants Pass, OR; six grandchildren, Tori, Johnathan, and Timothy Krone and Hannah, Savannah, and Joyanna Ruska; a sister-in-law, Louise Wolfer and husband, Merv; two former sisters-in-law, Diane Noahr of Stanwood, WA and Audrey Noahr of Las Vegas, Nevada and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 at Pate Chapel at Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Darren Holland, Chaplain Hans Ruska, and the Rev. Jonathan Falwell officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 16. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502 and other times at the residence.
