He was born in Buffalo, New York on March 5, 1955, son of the late Robert Stevens McGuire and the late Mary Strayer McGuire.
Bob loved drag racing, old westerns, good food and was an avid car collector.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Tammy; five children, Cassie Fitzgerald (David), Bobby McGuire (Sara), Meagan McGuire (Matt), Jacob McGuire, and D.P. Blair (Brooke); a sister, Cathy Skinner (Jimmie); three grandchildren, Kilen James Fitzgerald, Dulaney Rose McGuire and Mackenzie Mae McGuire; his mother in law and father in law, Donovan and Sis Wooldridge. He is also survived by a sister, Kim Kent & family as well as many other foster siblings. Bob also leaves behind his canine girls, Izzy and Chloe (he loved his weenies) as well his feline friend, Lola.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1-4 pm on Saturday, October 15 at the family home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Centra Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center, 1701 Thomson Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
