Robert Edward Figg "Bubba", 34, of Evington, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
Born on February 13, 1989 in Lynchburg, he was the son of Cynthia Figg and Glenn Figg (Laura). He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nathan and Gwendolyn Jefferson and Uncle Dennis Figg and Grandfather, Joe Dickens.
Robert's passions were as diverse as they were captivating. His heart resonated with the melodies of all music genres, while the exhilaration of motorcycles and cars ignited his spirit. Embarking on leisurely drives allowed him to ponder life's wonders. Nature was his sanctuary, be it basking on the shores of the beach, or indulging in the thrill of hunting and fishing. The sizzle of the grill brought out his culinary prowess, a skill he shared during cherished moments with family and friends. Yet, his ultimate joy was the time spent with his beloved son, Jaxson. His infectious sense of humor could brighten even the dullest of moments, his presence as warm as his beautiful blue eyes. Robert's kindness knew no limits, as he would selflessly offer his aid to anyone in need, embodying a generosity that defined him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved son, Jaxson Edward Figg; sisters, Teresa Morey (Justin), Sam Lawhorn (Michael), Michelle Figg; step-brother, Shane Woods; step-sister Shannah Woods; paternal Grandparents, Howard Figg and Joyce Dickens; Aunts and Uncles, Beth and Danny Marshall, Sheila Figg, Barbara Padgett, Donna and Carl Lee Jordan, Lisa Kelly; numerous nieces and nephews that adored him, Kayla Cash Brewer, Jeffery Bruffy, Greenlee Bruffy, Lincoln Morey, Austyn Franklin and Kaylynn Duncan; very special friends, Mike Steele and Jon Ford; his longtime girlfriend and mother of Jaxson, Gabrielle Waller; and a host of cousins.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be conducted on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Norwood Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Sam Stump, Jr. Interment will immediately follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at the residence, 217 Country Place Lane, Lynchburg.
