Each one of us receives a guardian angel at birth , who walks along beside us every day we spend on earth and on January 9, 2013. God sent an angel down from heaven to take our guardian angel, Patricia Ann Neighbors home to be with him.
Ann was born on April 7, 1951 in Lynchburg, Virginia. Ann was the daughter of the late Walter Marvin Neighbors and Dorothy Powell Neighbors. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Gillette and four brothers, Walter Neighbors, Edward Neighbors, Cledus Neighbors and Burton Neighbors.
Ann had dedicated her life to her family and to her church. Ann was a very active member of the Lynchburg Church of God of Prophecy. Ann loved children and through that love she has blessed many children over the years as their Sunday School Teacher. She was also very active in the Seniors Ministry at her church. She would spend a lot of time visiting with those that were unable to attend church and with the Seniors that were sick. She loved to help with the once a month Seniors Luncheon at her local church.
Ann has a very special niece, Kimberly Gillette, that she has devoted many years of her life to, taking care of her and her needs.
Ann is survived by one brother, Lee Neighbors and his wife Barbara of Lynchburg, sister-in-laws, Joyce Neighbors of Rustburg, Delores Neighbors and Frances Neighbors, both of Lynchburg. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ann was loved by all and has many, many friends. Ann never met a stranger and was always willing to help her friends and family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Church of God of Prophecy on Garfield Avenue. Immediately following the visitation a Celebration of Ann’s life will be held with Pastor Gary L. Vernon officiating.
