Nelius Kermit Driskill

Nelius Kermit Driskill, 94, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, January 21 at Heritage Green Assisted Living, his home for the past seven years.
Born in Lynchburg January 20, 1920, he was the son of the late Irma Letha Godsey Driskill and the late Malcolm Albert Driskill. He lived and worked in Baltimore, MD most of his adult life, retiring from the National Security Agency in 1982, when he moved back to Lynchburg.
In addition to his parents, Kermit was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, to whom he was married for 53 years, his sisters Corretta Poindexter and Sallie Steppe, and his brothers, Clem and “Mack” Malcolm Jr.
Kermit is survived by a son, Robert and his wife Susan of Nashville, TN, a daughter, Cynthia and her husband John of Maui, HI, a brother Cecil, five grandchildren, Deborah, Mark, Michael, Christopher, and Chris (Bub), ten great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Fort Hill United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Janet D. Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
