Born in Bedford County on August 9, 1926, she was the last living child of her late parents, Erasmus Keldon and Goldie Zimena Hudson Goodman. She was also predeceased by her husband, Richard Calland Callaway and her brothers, William Carlton, Booker, James, John, Clyde Harding, and Herbert Andrew Goodman.
Also predeceased were her sisters, Helen McKinney, Lucy Elizabeth Wilson, Ruth Frances Goodman, and Emma Bryant.
Mary is survived by her nieces, Nellie Breeden, Phyllis Treadway, Frances Rivenbark, Linda Kerem, Sheila Sowers, Janet Marie Dryden, Goldie Dowdy, Mildred Keesee, Darlene Hensley, Melissa Goodman, Betty Witt, and Martha Hudson, and her nephews, James Ray Goodman, Keester McGuire, Herbert Andrew Goodman, Jr., Mark Bryant, Charles Edward Wilson, James Wilson, Joseph Wilson, and many other relatives.
Mary graduated in 1944 from New London Academy. She worked at Craddock-Terry first and retired from C.B. Fleet.
She enjoyed many years with her friends and family and was loved by all. She was a long-time member of Langhorne Chapel Community Church and requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to her church.
Funeral service and burial will be at Timber Ridge Baptist Church in Bedford County on Saturday, May 15, at 3:00 PM with visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, officiated by Pastors Phil Kelley and Dwight Weaver.
