Marilyn Helen Loomis, 79, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 at The Carrington.
Born in New York, NY, May 10, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Melville E. Malet and Marie Flogel Malet. Marilyn was a long time resident of New Orleans, LA and was retired from the hospitality industry having managed several hotels in the French Quarter and enjoyed participating in and assisting with various Mardi Gras balls and costume design.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Loomis of Lynchburg; one son, Melville Hartsough and his wife Sandra of Lynchburg; one daughter, Melissa Price of Santa Cruz, CA; two sisters, Polly Weidenkoph and Phyllis Nunnery both of Dallas, TX and five grandchildren, Cristos Price, Sarah Price Jessie Brown, Dulcie Hartsough and Amelia Davey.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Joel Wallschlaeger officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
