Lucille Bowers Berry, 88 of Lynchburg, went peacefully to Heaven to be with the Lord November 13th, 2012, with her family by her side.
Born September 24th, 1924 in Derby, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late William and Alta Mullins Bowers. She was married 39 years to the late Thomas Theodore Berry. They were longtime residents of Roanoke, Virginia. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Carl Bowers; and her daughter, Deborah K. Berry.
Lucille was an active member of Timberlake United Methodist Church. She loved to knit, crochet, and spend time with family and friends.
Lucille is survived by her children, Delores Craig and husband David, of Wytheville, Michael Berry and Beth Tillack, of Goochland, Virginia, and Cindy Shelton and husband Steve, of Lynchburg. She is also survived by her brother, Billy E. Bowers and wife Ernestine, of Johnson City, Tenn. Lucille cherished her seven grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
A special thank you to her many friends for their concern and prayers and to the caring staff at Gentle Shepherd Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Timberlake United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012, at Timberlake United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Dr. Rob Colwell. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
