Juanita Catherine Reynolds, 83, of Lynchburg passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Twice married she was preceded in death by her first husband, William R. Russell and her second husband Calvin L. Reynolds.
Born in Lynchburg, February 25, 1928, she was a daughter of the late John B. and Ida Hicks Tyree. Mrs. Reynolds had worked for many years at the Central Virginia Training Center and later dedicated her life to caring for her great grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of God.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Houston E. Tyree and three sisters, Mamie Nelson, Eldora Cheatham and Elsie Tyree.
She is survived by three daughters, Fredda Nash and her husband Dave, Perdeda Collins and her husband Arthur and Burnita Johnson all of Lynchburg; nine grandchildren, Denise Carter, Kevin Nash, Kimberly Jacobs, Arthur Collins, Jr., Donna Ware, Darel Johnson, Sharon Brannan, Curtis Johnson and David Johnson; 34 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and a special family friend, Howard Campbell.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2012 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Reed Ness officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. today at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel and at other times at the home of her daughter Fredda.
