Joann Susan Renfro

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Joanne Hicks Renfro, who left us on October 6, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on January 31, 1958, Susan lived a life full of love, quiet reflection, and meaningful connections with both nature and family.

A lover of the sea, Susan was a frequent visitor to the Neptune Festival at Virginia Beach, a place where she found joy and peace near the ocean she adored. She cherished her solitude but equally enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories in both the mountains she admired and the coastal scenes that brought her serenity. Susan was a hardworking woman who took great pride in all that she did, a testament to her strong will and quiet determination.

Susan was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Pete Hicks and Joanne Winebarger. She is survived by her children, son Trevor Oliver and daughter Wynter Day; her loving sisters Carla Weiss and Laura Hicks; her brother Danny Hicks; and her adored grandchildren, Elizabeth Louise Oliver, Archer Raine Oliver, Trey Day, and Olivia Day, who will all continue to carry her spirit with them.

Susan will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
