James Warren Martin

James Warren Martin, 79, of Lynchburg passed away holding the hands of his loved ones Tuesday, October 29, 2019. “Oh Lord such a rejoice full ending for that modern day Bonnie and Clyde”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dabney and Lula Morris.
James was a good man who didn’t always make the best choices but came to know and love God. He loved Nascar, and football, especially his beloved Dallas Cowboys, James also had a passion for playing the guitar, and smoking his Pall Mall cigarettes.
James is survived by his niece who was more like granddaughter to him, Tiffany Stratton and her husband, Edward of Lynchburg, their son Ashyier who he called “his superman”; a special cousin who was like a brother to him, Buddy Ashley as he called “His right hand man” and his wife Ada of Lynchburg; two special nieces, Missy Tweedy and DeAnna Tweedy who he called his “Doodlebug” of Lynchburg: a special nephew Junior Ashley and his wife, Diane of Rustburg; a sister, Virginia Thompson and her husband of Evington; and plenty of other family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2019 in Old City Cemetery with Pastor Mike Dodson officiating. Family will receive friends at the home of Tiffany and Edward Stratton.
