Obituary of James John Hebron
James J. Hebron, 76, of Lynchburg, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born on June 8, 1946, he was the son of the late James J. Hebron and Virginia Tracy Hebron. James was a former US Postman, who also served in the U.S. army infantry. Virginia worked at The Metropolitan Life insurance company of NY. James was raised also by his grandmother, Catherine Veronica Smith Tracy aka "Nannie". He is survived by his partner of 28 years, Margaret Patterson; son Daniel V. Licht (Alice), his step-daughter, Jennifer Hart (Tommy), step-son Jerry Hart (Diane); grandson Ness Elias Licht; three step- grandsons Brian McChesney, Brandon McChesney, and Jerry Hart; and three step great-grandchildren Oliver, Madeline and Allison McChesney. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Beth D. Licht, maternal immediate first cousins: Jacqueline and Virginia Kattenhorn Colgan, his second cousin, John Kattenhorn, His paternal first cousins Robert Hebron and Richard Hebron; along with his lifelong grade school friend, Phil Gamma. Nicknamed Jay, he graduated as an honorary student at The Epiphany grammar school. He attended the St. Francis Xavier high school for cadets taught by the Jesuit brothers. James studied the Film industry at The City University of NY. CUNY. After achieving his Degree in Cinematography, James was part of the crew filming Paul Simons African Tour as well as other boxing events. James worked at FGS in Largo, Florida for 13 years doing graphic design. He then worked as a superintendent of a parochial school in West Florida. Jim worked for the salvation army serving food and in the kitchen for many years. James also worked at the Goodwill processing incoming donations. James was very proud of working on the election team in Lynchburg for over 7 years. He had so many good friends that he worked with. One of James' greatest loves was his cats and dogs. They will miss you Jim, we will take good care of them.
