Howard Franklin Lacks, 84, of Lynchburg passed away Friday, November 22, 2024. He was the son of the late Howard Samuel Lacks and Lottie Creel Lacks Berry. Born November 1, 1940, Howard was known for his passion for cooking and his dedication to providing for his family. He loved fishing and spending time in the great outdoors. A devoted fan of the Washington Redskins, he eagerly followed their games. An avid reader, Howard had a special fondness for mystery novels. Above all, he was a family man who cherished his faith in his Lord and Savior. A faithful member and regular attendee of his church and Sunday school, Howard’s presence and dedication will be deeply missed. In addition to Howard’s parents, he was preceded in passing by his sister, Joanne Doyle and deceased wife Virginia Sue Lacks. Those left to cherish Howard’s memory include his wife of 31 years Jeanette Edith Cullen Lacks, his son Michael Lacks and his wife Patty; his stepchildren Darryl Ingersoll and his wife Melanie, Dennis Ingersoll and his wife Dana, Daniel Ingersol and his wife JuliAnn; his granddaughter Chelsey Tomlin; step-grandchildren Dillon, Dayton, Dawson, Jacob, Chloe, Hunter and Maddox Ingersoll, and Nicholas and Brandon Jennings. A memorial service to celebrate Howard’s life will be held at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, officiated by Lenny Doss. Those wishing to send memorial contributions are asked to consider Hyland Heights Baptist Church or The American Foundation for the Blind.
