Gloria Jean Robey Tyree, 70, of Lynchburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior whom she loved dearly, on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Fairmont Crossing. She was the wife of the late David Eugene Tyree. Born July 14, 1944, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late George Gilbert Robey and the late Betty Ethel Coleman Robey.
Gloria was a homemaker and a member of Community Fellowship Baptist Church. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.
In addition to her husband and parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her half-brother, Randy Reynolds.
Gloria is survived by her children, Barry Wayne Tyree (Carolyn) of Evington, Larry Lee Tyree of Lynchburg, Stuart Alan Tyree (Kim) of Rustburg, Scott Dwayne Tyree (Stacie) of Lynchburg, and Michael Matthew Tyree (Mikaela) of Forest; thirteen grandchildren, Travis (Robyn), Megan (Danny), Christopher, Amy, Cody (Brielle), Ethan, Casey (Krystal), Katie, Chase (Tabitha), Luke, Hannah, Norah and Ayden; three great grandchildren, Kylar, Kainen, and Drew; special friend and caregiver, Jessica John; and many other loving family members and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. John Hunter officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at the residence of Stuart Tyree.
