Fred Arthur Austin

Fred Arthur Austin, 85, of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Bedford County Nursing Home. Born July 22, 1927 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Zan Alexander Austin and Allie Grishaw Austin. Fred is survived by his daughter, Barbara Ann Austin Anderson of Newport News; sisters, Ruth Aultice and Beulah Waller of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Brian Trent Anderson and Nicole Adena Anderson; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Fred is preceded in death by a daughter, Lenora Jane Austin Charlton; brothers, Walter, Hubert, Ernest, and Clyde Austin and a sister, Alease West. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Spring Hill Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Ed Vogt. The family will receive friends Friday, February 1, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
