Elizabeth McCraw “Betsy Anne” Harvey, 74, of Lynchburg, died peacefully Wednesday, April 05, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of James Young “Chip” Harvey, Jr. for 53 years.
Born in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Busey Thornhill McCraw and the late Dorothy Reams McCraw.
Betsy loved her family deeply and also cherished her many friends who brought as much joy to her life as she did to theirs. She sincerely adored her special friends from the YMCA, Oakwood Tennis and her Bridge group. Betsy truly had a gift for making others feel special. She never met a stranger, and her profound love of others has a lasting impact on so many throughout this community and beyond!
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Dodd F. Harvey (Sophia), Caroline H. Henderson (Max) and Dori H. Conner (Jeff), all of Lynchburg; six grandchildren, Megan and Lauren Harvey, Max, Jr. and Caid Henderson and Chase and Camp Conner and one very special brother, Thorne McCraw (Judy) of Lynchburg.

A Celebration of Her Life will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church and the family will receive friends in the church Narthex following the service.
