Ed Sprinkle

Marion Edward “Ed” Sprinkle, 78, of Lynchburg passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 at his residence. Born in Fincastle, July 14, 1936, he was the son of the late Raymond Edward Sprinkle and Ruby Haymaker Sprinkle. Ed retired from both Falwell Well Corp. with 23 years of service and Columbia Gas Co. with 20 years of service. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 16. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debora Ann Jones; his son, Joseph Edward Sprinkle and one granddaughter, Holly Elizabeth McQuarry. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen M. Sprinkle; one daughter, Dale McQuarry of Knotts Island, NC; two sisters, Jean Drewery and husband Buck of Lynchburg and Linda Corvin and husband Bill of Fincastle; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Rd., Lynchburg, VA 434-239-0331.
