Christina “Tina” Bowman Evans, 61, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. For forty-one years, she was the loving and devoted wife of Roy Atron Evans.
Born July 5, 1952 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of John Carroll and Yolanda DeDominicis Bowman of Lynchburg. Tina was a Financial Coordinator with Central Virginia Orthodontics and a former employee of Lynchburg Gas Company. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
Tina was preceded in death by her brother, Robert S Bowman and her beloved dog, Kayleigh.
In addition to her husband and parents, Tina is survived by three children, Brandon Evans and wife Bailey of Forest, Stefanie E. Stewart and husband Doug of Roanoke, and Jonathan Evans and wife Verity of Woodbridge; two sisters, Mary “Ani” B. Bagby and husband Bill of Charlotte Court House and Marina B. Pillow and husband Johnny of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Owen Robert Evans and Devon Alexander Stewart and numerous special nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at the residence.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon), Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Monsignor Joseph Lehman officiating.
